A movement in gynecologic health, which emphasized prevention, education and natural self-care, was sparked from the feminism of the 1970’s. This movement influenced the creation of clinics and books which were my introduction to women’s health care, and the reason that I became a nurse practitioner. I believe that a health exam is only partly about detecting problems and treating symptoms. My visits with my patients are largely about education, self-empowerment and prevention. When treatment is necessary, I am able to provide options to allow my patients to choose the path that best suits their needs and desires, and I focus to getting to the root of the problem rather than treating symptoms. Too many people dread going to the gynecologist because of the dehumanizing and mysterious environment which is created around the visit. My goal is to create a supportive and respectful practice which fosters my clients’ curiosity, knowledge and inner strength.

"Ms. Mozer, I wanted to give you a sincere thank you for being such
an amazing doctor! I came to you while living in Portland and you
changed my life! I hadn't had a cycle in 5 months when I came
in and through teaching me the Mayan abdominal massage, I now have them,
almost monthly. When I keep up on the massages I get in tune with the
lunar cycle! It is so amazing and grounding to feel that in touch with
the world. I know
the Mayan massage is what changed many things for me and I am grateful
to you for teaching me. There are so many people out there for you to help in

"Dana was my gynecologist for years before menopause kicked in. When I started experiencing hormonal changes with frustrating symptoms, including anxiety and sleeplessness, she suggested Mayan Abdominal Therapy. While I am still certainly menopausal, the massage has been amazing in helping to control my symptoms and teach me to trust and respect the complex happenings in my body. The work has been invaluable for my sleeping troubles and anxiety. I can't wait for my next appointment!"
-52 year old mother of five
I came to Dana Mozer having suffered for years with chronic
pelvic pain that dramatically affected my day to day life and
especially my personal life. At that point I'd been to specialists, naturopaths, physical therapists, acupuncturists, massage therapists, rolfers
- you name it. My pelvic pain physical therapist was getting frustrated
with what she called "cement walls" where I was supposed to have a
supple pelvic floor. I have wanted to try every avenue so Mayan
abdominal massage sounded like it could be helpful. Within a month of my
first appointment my physical therapist was blown away by the
difference in my entire pelvic region. She and my naturopath
asked for Dana's information to pass on to other clients. Within two
months I was at my wedding actually able to enjoy the time with family
and friends without my mind fixated on pain. Not only does this
technique do incredible things for the body, Dana herself is intelligent
and insightful in ways that have been invaluable to my healing process.
I could not recommend her highly enough!
